MorphoSys erhält menschliche Zelllinie PER.C6® zur Produktion von Antikörpermaterial im Rahmen des MOR103-Programms

Die MorphoSys AG (Frankfurt: MOR; Prime Standard Segment, TecDAX) gab
heute die Unterzeichnung eines zweiten PER.C6®-Lizenzvertrags mit dem
holländischen Biotechnologie-Unternehmen Crucell N.V. (Euronext,
NASDAQ: CRXL) und dessen Partner, dem Auftragsproduzenten DSM
Biologics, bekannt. Der Vertrag ermöglicht MorphoSys den Einsatz der
menschlichen Zelllinie PER.C6® zur Produktion von klinischem
Antikörpermaterial im Rahmen des firmeneigenen Programms MOR103. Bei
MOR103 handelt es sich um einen vollständig menschlichen
HuCAL®-Antikörper, den MorphoSys im Bereich der entzündlichen
Erkrankungen, beispielsweise zur Behandlung der Rheumatoiden
Arthritis, entwickelt. Finanzielle Details wurden nicht bekannt
gegeben.

Darüber hinaus unterzeichnete MorphoSys einen Vertrag mit DSM
Biologics zur Herstellung des klinischen Materials in deren
FDA-geprüften Produktionsanlagen im niederländischen Groningen.

MOR103-Programms auf Kurs ist, um den nächsten Entwicklungsschritt
einzuleiten, die Einreichung alle notwendigen Anträge für den Start
einer klinischen Phase-1-Studie in der zweiten Jahreshälfte 2007",

menschlichen Antikörper zur Behandlung von entzündlichen Erkrankungen
mit einer ebenso vollständig menschlichen Produktionsmethode. Die
Herstellung von menschlichen Antikörpern auf diese Art verspricht
zahlreiche Vorteile gegenüber herkömmlichen Methoden, besonders für
die Behandlung einer chronischen Krankheit wie der Rheumatoiden
Arthritis."
